He went on to attend Central Michigan University, earning a degree while also playing NCAA Division I football. Patrick received numerous accolades, including First Team All-Academic in the Mid American Conference and the Senior Athlete Award for his dedication to academics and athletics.
Patrick earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1991, gaining practical experience as a law clerk at Church Wyble, P.C., a prominent personal injury and municipal law firm.
